Andrew Burnie, Operations Director

Andrew Burnie is Operations Director of Heron International and has responsibility for the Company’s leisure developments – Heron City in Spain and Sweden. He qualified as a chartered surveyor and has over 30 years¹ experience in asset management having obtained an RICS qualifying diploma in estate management.

He joined Heron in 1981 as assistant to the asset management director and, in 1985, was made director of Heron Property Corporation and took over responsibility for the asset management department. His experience has been widespread in both the UK and continental Europe. During his time at Heron, he has undertaken and completed a number of major refurbishments of commercial, retail and leisure properties including Heron City Barcelona, Heron City Valencia, and in the earlier years, the major refurbishment of The Bridges shopping centre in Sunderland. He started his career with the property development company London Merchant Securities and then spent three years working for the asset management department of Savills.
